What to expect when you come

Here at Norwood, there are smiling faces and people of all ages with generous hearts who love and serve Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Norwood is truly a church with open hearts, open doors and open minds. We're interested in being relevant, to listen to your concerns and needs; practically, spiritually and emotionally and to work together to deal with real life issues. We welcome you and we are already praying for you.

A holy place to gather

When you attend a worship service at Norwood, you will find a beautiful Sanctuary, a warm congregation and an atmosphere that fosters genuine worship as together we learn more about God and enjoy each other's fellowship. There are many small group opportunities; choir, mid-week Bible Study, Men's and Women's groups, Children's Council, Sunday School , Boy Scouts, and other activities that are seasonal. Would you like to be part of the family? Then make yourself at home. You will be blessed for having come, and others around you will be blessed by your presence.

Offertory Moments

St. Paul, in his first letter to Timothy, says, “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” Notice two things about this verse. First, it does NOT say, that “money” is the root of evil. It says “The LOVE of money is A ROOT of ALL KINDS of evil.” Money is not evil, but the LOVE of money, at its ROOT…or FOUNDATION is what leads to evil acts. And it is not THE root of evil, but ONE of the roots. This clarification of a widely misquoted text helps us to see what Jesus consistently taught… that when we allow anything…including money…especially money, to get between us and God, we are losing our way. To be sure we don’t lose our way, we commit the first fruits…and the tithe, to God, and generously give to the work of God's Kingdom. Let’s now give God's tithes and our offerings.

Gearing Up For Fun

We are about to enter into a busy few months at Norwood UMC. Let’s join together as a church family in making these fun and successful events. These events are a great opportunity for us to extend hospitality to our community.
